Asbestos

Asbestos is a fibrous material that has been widely-used in various products. Upon its discovery, the rock was favored in building materials due to its ability to resist fire and water damage as well as its insulative properties. However, it can also cause heath concerns like mesothelioma if a fiber is inhaled. For this reason, it's important to maintain your building or home in a manner that prevents unexpected disturbances.
If you own, live in or work in an older home or commercial building, it’s important to be aware of asbestos sampling regulations, such as NESHAP, and abatement safety prior to doing a demo or renovation.
